Individual Coaching

Nothing will fix your swing faster than having individual lessons as the focus is on your problems and what you wish to achieve. It is always better to have a series of lessons as it takes time to make changes to develop consistency. A 30 minute lesson will identify your swing faults, explain what is necessary to fix the problems and get you on the right track. A one hour lesson will allow some time to work on the swing but a series of lessons will allow time to build the formation of a much more consistent swing.

Packaging lessons is always a better option because it is not only cheaper but will allow you to progress with the various swing components and various parts of the game. Although the swing mechanics are similar for all clubs there can be a variation in ball position and length of swing eg using the pitching wedge for an approach shot or hitting a driver or fairway club for longer shots.

It takes time to learn golf as there are so many variables. Generally we start with a driver for the first shot then if you hit the fairway you will be selecting an iron or fairway club to hit to the green. If you miss the green you will need an approach shot and this shot will depend what the ball needs to do to get close to the hole. You may need to hit over a bunker (or out of one), or you may only have to run the ball up onto the green so choosing the correct club is most important and applying the correct stroke for the club you are using. Once you are on the green you need to know how to read the green, which means that you are determining how and where the ball will roll towards the hole.

If you are only starting the game then you will need several lessons on general swing technique as well as lessons on the short game (chipping, putting and bunker shots). Even proficient golfers should have regular lessons if they want to continue to improve their game. The reason for this is that you cannot watch your own swing when hitting the ball. The golf coach has a trained eye and will determine what you need to understand about your swing to make correct adjustments for improvement.

Lesson packages can be taken over a short or long period of time. Obviously the closer the lessons are taken the quicker the improvement. But not everyone has the time to do this so they may wish to extent their package over a longer period of time giving them time to do some individual practice and maybe get a game in before the next lesson. Whatever you choose to do a lesson plan is always the best option as you will be progressing towards continual improvement.
